In honor of Memorial Day, I'd like to share the Santa Monica Veterans Memorial, in honor of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy. It consists of six columns that are placed so that at 11:11 a.m. on 11-11 each year, their shadows are perfectly aligned with marble inlays across the adjacent path.
