255/365 - Well Being in Bath

On September 10, I jumped on the train and traveled from London to Bath (just 1.5 hours journey). Built 2,000 years ago, the historic Roman Baths still flow today and are Britain's only natural hot spring. There isn't enough time here on 365 to even scratch the surface when it comes to history and all there is to do there, but suffice it to say, the audio tours (including segments from one of my favorite authors, Bill Bryson) and interactive exhibits at the Roman Baths temple were fascinating.

Bottom line, the heritage of Bath will blow your mind, but don't get overwhelmed. All you need to do is simply walk a few blocks to the new Thermae Bath Spa, a perfect combo of 'old and new' meshing together historic spa buildings and state-of-the-art design. I guess that's where Bath all came together for me. I was floating around in the open air roof-top pool overlooking the city of Bath.... I closed my eyes and felt the warm, therapeutic, mineral-rich waters flow over me....and I absorbed the same well being and calm that the Celts and Romans felt over 2000 years ago.
